This issue sees a brand new 'engine' running Digital Disk Amiga. In order
to use the viewer program the best way is to use the mouse and simply
click on any of the options by pressing either mouse button.
But of course there has to be 'hot keys' to make the process of selecting
options even quicker so we have some!
Here are the 'hot keys', starring in no particular order, well except
alphabetical anyway :
~~4Key/Function (RETURN - OK, ESCAPE - CANCEL)
A - Adverts, to pause an advert then hold down either mouse button.
B - Background colour, changes colour from colour to black, and vice
versa.
C - Contents. This option does nothing when you're on the contents page
already!!!
E - End, goes to the last page for the current section.
G - Goto. On selecting this option you are then required to type in a
page number using the keyboard. Press DELETE or BACKSPACE if you make a
mistake. Press OK to except or CANCEL to to return to the page you came
from.
M - Music. Use the mouse to click on a tune then OK to load that tune
(unless it is the current tune playing then nothing will happen), or
CANCEL to change nothing.
P - Picture. If there is a picture for that section then it will be
loaded, if not it won't!. Click on this also to get rid of a picture
which is displayed, or press any other button which will do it for you!,
as well as performing their function too (woooh!).
Q - Quit. Yes if you've had enough for now, then you will asked if you
really want to quit!, press OK to quit, or CANCEL to forget that you ever
contemplated quiting.
SPACE - Switches the panel to the other one, and vice-versa. Handy
button if you just like using the mouse!
ARROW KEYS - LEFT and RIGHT move back/forward a page, and UP and DOWN
move back/forward a section (it even works on the contents page!).
TAB - Extra. The mysterious EXTRA button!!! Which at the moment does
nothing at all! We want your ideas, what on earth could it be used for ?
How about for selecting an animation for each page ?, another panel of
menu options (arghhh!!!) ?
Thats about it I think, all of the options covered. The hot keys also
mean that we could easily produce a NTSC version of Digital Disk in the
future for all American Amiga users, which we will soon!
